Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’I has been re-ordered to appear before National Assembly Committees on Trade and Agriculture before Friday, June 29 failure to which he will be summoned.
This comes after the CS failed to appear before the committee to answer allegations to the impounded contraband sugar contains mercury.
The CS through a letter requested the committee to reschedule the probing to a later date since he was attending an official meeting.
Matiang’i said he is involved in the EAC heads of state summit that is being hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This is the third time the CS declining to honor a parliamentary committee under one year.
